Ever since North Carolina TE Carl Tucker entered his name into the transfer portal, Nick Saban and company have been all over his recruitment. It paid off today.
Former UNC tight end Carl Tucker says he’s heading to Alabama. Has one more year of eligibility remaining. https://t.co/gQG7TZ49DA

Tucker is a stocky 248 lbs. at only six-foot-two, so he should be able to do some work as a run blocker, which was something of an issue this season at that spot. He has dealt with some injuries in his career and has a limited history catching the ball in his four seasons, with 36 career catches for 549 yards and four touchdowns.
The Tide needed to add a player at this position after missing on targets Arik Gilbert (LSU) and Darnell Washington (Georgia). Tucker fits that bill and should be able to get on the field quite a bit in 2020.
Roll Tide.
