The first thing that jumps out is the back half of the schedule. Alabama seemingly always plays Mississippi State after LSU in November, but not this year. Instead, the Tide get a breather the following week against New Mexico State, which would normally be played a week later in advance of Auburn. Instead, the Tide will face an Arkansas squad that played a physical brand of football in 2020 before the Iron Bowl. That is all very different.
The front half of the schedule is somewhat forgiving with two cupcakes mixed in between Miami and Florida, but that back-to-back in week 5 and 6 is going to be difficult. Miami returns a bunch so there won’t be a lot of time for Bill O’Brien to get his overhauled personnel acclimated. Will the QB battle extend into the season as it has in the past? Will we get to have more butts in the seats?
Anything else stand out?
Roll Tide.
