Alabama picked up two more commitments over the weekend and is looking to poach another. RB Demetrius Goode, a Rivals.com four star prospect, committed to the Tide after playing a season at Hargrave Military Academy (and previously committing to Kentucky), as did TE Chris Underwood. The possible poaching I mentioned involved safety Michael McNeil, who was previously thought to be a lock for either Auburn or Florida State. He was so impressed with his visit to Alabama though, that he postponed a press conference scheduled for Tuesday to consider his options:
McNeil said he spent a lot of time with Saban, whose specialty is coaching defensive backs.
"He makes quite the impression," McNeil said.
You can keep your face, but all your recruits are belong to us.
For all those questioning whether one of the men behind one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL should be at Alabama, worry no more. Steve Marshall is headed to Cleveland.
Le'Ron McClain is getting all sorts of praise for his performance in the Senior Bowl, but the hard times keep coming for Ken Darby:
"It was a bad exchange between me and the quarterback," Darby said of the fumble. "Other than that, it would have been a nice little run."
Game aside, Darby believes he helped his case for making an NFL team with his work on the practice field.
"I had a great week of practice," he said. "Even though we didn't perform to the level we knew we can perform to in the game, I think my chances are good."
Hopefully he'll do well at the NFL combine and get a shot at the pros.
