2015 Alabama Football Recruiting News & Update: Three Players Dropped from Bama Committed List

Breaking News

After fragments of buzz flying around interwebz about Alabama players changing their commitments comes word that three are no longer on the Alabama Committed List.

RICO MCGRAW

The 4-star cornerback had originally flipped from Georgia back in July but may be returning his pledge to the Bulldogs.

MONTRELL CUSTIS

This 3-star CB is also leaving the list but he could possibly return. He too had flipped his commitment (from Kentucky to Alabama). Despite his promise to the Tide, he has been making official visits this month: Kentucky Jan 16, Ole Miss Jan 23, Florida Jan 30.

Tide fans may be lamenting the loss of help in the secondary but Bama still has two 5-star corners committed in Minkah Fitzpatrick and Kendall Sheffield.

ISAIAH PRINCE

Alabama got a recent verbal pledge from 4-star offensive tackle who had cancelled his official visits to Ohio State and Maryland. But then he went ahead and made the trip to Columbus anyway, whipping up a whirlwind of rumors that Prince was having trepidations about his decision. He will make his final announcement on National Signing Day (NSD) February 4 at 9:30am ET. It will be interesting to see if Nick Saban will wait around for his decision.

Prince's indecision has wreaked some havoc on the Tide's plans to add one more offensive tackle as Thursday morning brought the surprise announcement that 4-star Chidi Valentine-Okeke had commited to LSU. He originally had been thought to be deciding between Alabama and Auburn with Georgia getting the bronze medal. The plan was for him to announce live on a Fox SportsSouth show last Monday evening. However in the end, he did not announce that day.

Bama coaches are still working to flip Ole Miss commit Drew Richmond. The 4/5-star OT had been scheduled to visit Tuscaloosa two weeks ago but a death in the family cancelled that trip. At 6-5/310, he is likely the most game-ready of these three tackles. The Memphis native will visit Tennessee this weekend. [UPDATE: Reliable sources are saying Drew Richmond is visiting Alabama today. IMHO, he is the best of these three.]

More details (and wild speculation) coming on Friday.
